Lesson 8:Duties and rights of the members of the educational community. Conflict resolutions.

Lesson 8: Duties and rights of the members of the educational community. Conflict resolutions.

The preliminary ideas that I have from this lesson are that there are rigths and duties for both teachers and students and that un schools there are many conflicts in

I have learned the conflict in the classroom this lesson and the community building plan. I have learned two authors, that according  to them Defensor (2000), Martín Rodríguez and Marchesi (2003) the following are the most common types of conflicts: Disruptive behaviuor, such as that disturb and interrupt classes, physical attacks to other student or teachers, and vandalism and antisocial behavior. I have also learned that there are factors that can give rise to new conflicts.

I have learned the student’s right, which include for example comprehensive training; student’s duties which include studying and attending class; teacher’s rights which include being respected, well treated and valued by the educational community; teacher’s duties which  include complying with the rules regarding conduct and diversity. I have learned corrective and disciplinary measures will have an educational and rehabilitative character; and some circumstances that will be taken into account when applying these measures, for example spontaneous admitting to misconduct.

I have also learned some behaviour that breach the school’s conde of conduct and corrective measures and serious benches of a school’s code of conduct and the disciplinary educational measures to be applied will be as follows:

Also I have learned how to adress school violence, which are the following steps
1.     Detect and communicate situations.
2.     Emergency measures.
The last thing I have learned un this lesson is the Community-Building plan un schools and the Community-Building and conflict-prevention measures, in this last one including the time-out rooms and mediation, including the different types.

I found this video very useful, as it explains in the educational context, conflict; some advantages and disadvantages. This video is very easy to understand.

After reading an article from S. Prabhat I understand perfectly the differences between rights and duties, because before I confused them.

Also , I have read an  article form  Vibe Themes and know I have  more clear what are the responsibilities and duties of students in the educational context.

I wasn't quite sure of how to apply conflict resolution to the classroom, and after reading an article from  The Room 241 Team, I know 4 effective conflict resolution strategies of how to explain to students how to resolve a conflict between them. But even though students know how to solve the problem, teachers need  to be looking all the time in case something goes to an even worse situation.
