 Comparing LOE and LOMCE





The preliminary idea that I have from this practice is that the legislation according to education has changes, and the most recent law LOMCE, has some advantages and also some disadvantages respect LOE

In this practice I have learned some advantages and disadvantages of LOMCE with respect to the LOE regarding the organisation and function of education. An example of an advantage is hat this Law changes the educational model, this law proposes an interdisciplinary teaching, which encourages group work and also introduces the project model, against the traditional exam model. And an example of a disadvantage between these two laws is that students who wish to access the High School are  not separated from those who only intend to complete compulsory education, having students who want to access the high school next year along with others who want to work, could affect the education of those who want to continue studying.

I have also learned that LOE and LOMCE are influenced by previous laws; the LOE was influenced by the LOCE (or Organic Law on Education Quality), but with some ideas suppressed and new added ideas; the LOMCE isn’t a “new law”, is a modification of the LOE, specifically with 109 modifications, and with new ideas that there weren’t in the LOE; the starting point of both LOE and LOMCE is the Spanish constitution of 1978, mainly in article 27.
In this practice I have searched for what improvements could be made by the current educational system.

 After reading an article from the ABC.es I . have learned a few more ideas of how to improve the educational system, for example:  State Pact in Educational Matters or compulsory education  up to 18 years.

Lesson 9: Participation in education centers. The preliminary ideas that I have of this topic are that families, student and staff of the school must participate in education centers, and that there are regulations regulating this participation. I have learned that participation in schools is necessary. Also, the measures to foster the partipation of the educational community (for example: Encouraging organisations in each sector (associations) or Providing resources that encourage participation).
